Good Shepherd organizes our ministres using the acronym A.P.O.S.T.L.E.S.:

Administration: Kathleen Symons – Sr. Warden, Deidre Hicks 


Pastoral Care:  Paul Veihman, Stephanie DeWolfe

  • Stephen Ministry - one-on-one peer care ministry.
  • Prayer Network
  • Lay Eucharistic Visitors - Lay people in the parish take Communion to the hospitalized and home bound
  • St. Martha's Guild - direct care for those in need. Such meals for families in times of stress (illness, death or birth),  transportation or other help as needed.
  • Parish Gatherings

Outreach: Steve Wiseman, Mary Sterling

  • The Shepherd's Nook - Good Shepherd's Resale Shop.
  • Community Prayer Breakfast - meets at a different church in Friendswood for a time of prayer and fellowship.
  • Meals on Wheels - provides meals for shut-ins on a rotating basis.
  • Christian Helping Hands - short-term assistance with basic needs, and helps other become more self-sufficient.
  • Habitat for Humanity - works to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.
  • Honduras Mission - part of a team that travels to Corinto, Honduras each summer for a medical mission.
  • Communications - parish communications.

More Ministries and Activities 

Classics - Retirees and those who have some leisure time and love to have fun meet periodically for fun outings and gatherings at the church.  Currently the Classics meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month for a Covered Dish Salad Lunch and Games.  Everyone is welcome to come to Sterling Hall on the 2nd Tuesday at 10am.  Bring a salad to share, drinks are provided.  Contact person is Helen Weber.

Bridge Night - Join us for a fun night of bridge.  Scheduled for 7:00 periodically thoughout the year.  We usually don't start until 7:30 end around 10:30.  Experienced players and beginners welcome. For more information contact Betty & Gerry Stacy, gstacy@flash.net, 281-482-0475.
