Fr. Justin Briggle
Rector, Priest
Fr. Justin accepted a call to serve as Good Shepherd’s Rector in July of 2022. He previously served as Rector of St. Philip’s in Palestine, Texas. Prior to that he served as Curate of St. Mark’s, Beaumont. Before answering the call to the priesthood, Fr. Justin was better known as Dr. Briggle where he taught for 8 years as a chemistry professor at East Texas Baptist University. He loves spending time with his wife, Dawn, and their two sons, Marcus and Oliver, He’s an adept home-brewer and loves playing and watching cricket.
Fr. Mark Crawford
Assisting Priest
The Rev. Mark Crawford, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana was educated at S.M.U., Oxford University and Austin Presbyterian Seminary where he earned his Doctor of Ministry degree. He has served in various parishes and ministries in the Diocese of Texas since 1983. He has also served at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital where he became a Board Certified Chaplain. Fr. Mark is married to Lis, and they have three grown children and five grandchildren.

Our Vestry
The vestry is the elected, lay governing body of the church. Led by the Rector and guided by the Canons and Constitutions of The Episcopal Church, it is responsible for making decisions that affect the life of the church. The vestry is the fiduciary of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Our vestry is typically a 12 person board. A third of the vestry members are elected each year at our Annual Parish Meeting in January to 3 year terms.
