Please join the Stephen Minsters of Good Shepherd this Sunday, October 26th at the 10:15 service as newly trained Stepehen Leaders are commissioned: Leola Hancock, Veveine McKenzie, Renate Walker, and Fr. Geoff Gwynne. They will oversee and direct the Stephen Ministry Program at Good Shepherd.
To become at Stephen Leader, one must attend an intensive week-long Leader's Training Course taught by staff of Stephen Ministry, St. Louis. Participants come from across the US and many other countries to learn how to implement and direct Stephen Stephen Ministry, a system of Christian caregiving, in their congregations. Veveine and Renate completed the course in April in St. Louis, and Leola and Fr. Geoff completed the course in Dallas in July.
Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love on another. Stepehen Ministers are trained and supervised laypersons who provide one-to-one, confidential, Christian care to individuals facing life challenges or difficulties.
To learn how a Stephen Minister could be of help to you or a friend, speak to any of your Stephen Leasders.
