Invitation Sunday is a time for each of us to invite a friend, family member, loved one or neighbor to join us at church.  Being invitational is not always an easy task and often times we must step out of our comfort zone in order to invite another person to walk beside us.  The act of being invitational is similar to what Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”  Let each of us plant a seed through inviting someone to church; water the seed by walking beside those that accept the invitation and allow God to give the growth.  Take a leap of faith by being invitational as this is truly the gift that He shares with us.  Without seeds, nothing grows.

Sure we might all have fears or misgivings of inviting someone to church.  Does it mean that we are a failure if they don’t come?  Absolutely not!   God asks us to go out and make disciples of all nations and that begins through invitation; inviting ourselves to tell our stories of faith or to share what is on our heart and the love of Christ, or simply sharing about your church.  Whatever way you approach it, you are stepping out in faith and being invitational.
